Maddie Secco has made a quick rise in Canadian field hockey since making her senior international debut in 2011 in Vancouver.

Going back to the junior squad, she was part of the silver medal-winning team at the 2012 Junior Pan American Championship and then competed at the 2013 FIH Junior World Cup.

Returning to the senior squad, she helped Canada win bronze at the 2013 Pan American Cup before making her Commonwealth Games debut in 2014.

In 2015 she was part of the Canadian team that won bronze at the 2015 Pan American Game in Toronto Ontario, the first time since 1999 the Canadian women took home a medal at the event.

In her three years at Stanford University, she has scored 15 goals in 58 games for the Cardinal, earned a NFHCA All-Academic selection and was twice a NorPac All-Tournament team selection.

Her father Dave played soccer for Canada and her mother Debbie played badminton for Canada.
