Holly Stewart is one of the newer members of the senior national team, having earned her first cap in June 2013. She also scored her first goal in that game against Ireland. She suited up for the junior national team at the 2012 Junior Pan American Championship, where Canada won silver, and at the 2013 FIH Junior World Cup. She made her international multi-sport competition debut at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
In 2015 she was part of the Canadian team that won bronze at the 2015 Pan American Game in Toronto Ontario, the first time since 1999 the Canadian women took home a medal at the event.
While attending the University of Maine, Stewart had one of the best freshman seasons in school history, being named America East Co-Rookie of the Year and to the America East Second Team. As a junior she was second on the team in points with 12 goals and six assists and was named to the America East First Team.
