Game two of the 7 Test Super Series was a thriller, as both the Indian and Canadian teams created many scoring chances in a game that went right down to the last minute.  The first half would see each team tally three goals a piece, with fans only being required to wait until the fourth minute for the first as India’s Mohammed Amir Khan scored, silencing the hometown crowd.

An excited crowd assembled at the University of Victoria on Friday evening hoping to see a level of field hockey skill not often witnessed on Canadian soil, and they did not leave disappointed.  India showed flashes of brilliance during game one of the much anticipated 7 Test Super Series; with crisp passes and skilled stick work they dazzled the fans and won with a close 2-0 score.

The Organizing Committee of the 7-Test Super Series between Canada and India announce today that all profits derived from the Series will be directed towards junior development initiatives.

All the net profits derived from the sale of tickets for the seven matches or for the Gala Dinner will be directed towards the development of the Canadian Junior National Program and the establishment of an Academy of Hockey at the University of British Columbia, with the goal to develop young players and prepare them to play on the senior National Team…

Field Hockey Canada (FHC) and Head-Coach Alan Brahmst announced on Sunday the names of the players who will represent Canada in the seven-game test series against India, scheduled from October 9 to 24 in Victoria and Surrey, British Columbia.

Indian hockey team arrives in Canada for test series

After 33 years, India’s men’s national field hockey team arrived in Canada this afternoon at the Vancouver International Airport.  The last time the Indian Team came to Canada was for the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games!

The team is of course tired but in excellent spirits and were visibly impressed by the welcome signs and the special treatment they got from the Canadian Border Services Officials, Vancouver Airport Authorities, local media, local community members, and members of the 7 Test Super Series organizing committee…
