Who is eligible to play in the National Championships?
Any province which holds Provincial Association Membership with FHC is eligible to enter a team in any sanctioned FHC Tournament. In order to be eligible to compete in a designated FHC Tournament, a person must be a registered member in good standing with Field Hockey Canada. All participants, i.e., athletes, coaches, umpires, etc..., who take part in a FHC sanctioned tournament must also be members in good standing.
How do I become a certified field hockey coach?
FHC, your Provincial Association, and the National Coaching Institutes all play a role in administering the National Coaching Certification Program. The program has three components: the Theory component administered by the provincial sport branches and the Technical and Practical components administered by the National and Provincial sport governing bodies.

How do I become a certified field hockey umpire?
FHC and your Provincial Association play a role in administering the FHC Umpiring Certification program. The levels in the national FHC Umpiring Certification program are:

Is field hockey played in the Olympics?
Field hockey is a team sport in the Summer Olympics for both men and women. Canada's teams have competed in five of the last seven Summer Olympic Games.
How does FHC support its programs?
The majority of FHC's funding (56%) comes from Sport Canada, 8% from the Canadian Olympic Committee, 20 % from donations and fundraising, 1% from the Trust Funds, 10% from sponsors and national tournament levies (which go to the host provinces) and 5% from membership.
