In August 2006, Field Hockey Canada embarked on the LTADM project in partnership with Sport Canada. Aided by expert Istvan Balyi and an established working group, the work on the LTAD poster was completed in July 2008. Implementation of the LTAD model in partnership with the clubs and provincial associations began in early 2009. All Provincial Organisations received copies of the new LTAD Poster.
