Canada thumps Singapore in Olympic field hockey qualifying

Scott Tupper of Vancouver had a natural hat trick and finished with four goals. Mark Pearson of Tsawwassen, B.C., also scored four times and was named man of the match. Rob Short of Tsawwassen had three, while Philip Wright of Vancouver, Sukhwinder Singh of Mississauga, Ont., Richard Hildreth of Vancouver and Matt Guest of Melbourne, Australia added singles.
