Field Hockey Background

A family friend played for the UBC Thunderbirds and we went to watch one of her indoor games. I was quickly captured by the sport and as we were leaving I found a broken stick in the garbage which I grabbed. I used duck tape to piece the stick back together and promptly joined a team through the West Vancouver Field Hockey Club.

Proudest Moment

Scoring against Argentina at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Favourite Moment with Team Canada

Finishing the 2011 Champions Challenge with a win against Austria.

Career Highlights

- 2009-2010 Best Junior player in the West Vancouver Field Hockey Club
- 2008 BC Summer Games MVP

My Life

When not playing field hockey I enjoy reading, running, hiking, hanging out with friends and eating sushi. I want to become the best player I can be and in the future, I hope to represent Canada in the Olympics.

Education

High School: Handsworth Secondary School

Role Model

Clara Hughes is an unbelievable athlete and ambassador of sport. She is the only Canadian to win multiple medals in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. As well, she continually gives back to sport by generously donating money to organizations such as "Right to Play". Clara has shown me that nothing is impossible if one is willing to work hard.

Favourite Quote

"Hardwork beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."

Three Interesting Facts

1. While living in Australia for a year, I was selected to train for the 2012 Olympics in gymnastics for Australia
