First starting playing field hockey in high school; played for the University of Toronto from 2002-2006. Awards include OUA Player of the Year (2005, 2006); CIS Gai Wilson Outstanding Contributor Award (2006); CIS 1st Team All-Canadian (2005, 2006), CIS Championship Tournament XI (2005, 2006). Has represented Ontario since 1999.

Attended Cairine Wilson Secondary School in Orleans, Ontario; played field hockey, volleyball and touch football; named Senior Female MVP and Valedictorian in graduating year. Graduated from the University of Toronto in 2007 with a Bachelor of Physical Education and Health (Honours), and is currently working towards her MSc in Biomechanics at Queen’s University. Played at Push Hockey Club in Breda, The Netherlands in 2007. Nickname “Cheech” was given to her when she was a rookie at UofT. Mother Chandra is an accountant and father Piyasena is a statistician. Has an older sister Michelle. Inspired most by her parents who have taught her the value of hard work and that there are no limits to what you can do....
