Crystal started playing field hockey in middle school at age 13. In 2007 she broke her thumb and was out for six weeks. In 2008 she competed in both the U-19 Indoor and Senior Outdoor National Championships. She was named the U-19 Indoor Tournament MVP. |

Crystal attended Cowichan Secondary School in Duncan, BC. Her parents, Laurie Hatton and Andrew Poland, are the people who have most inspired her because of their continued support. Crystal's favourite food is chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream while her favourite athlete is Peyton Manning of the NFL. When not playing field hockey she enjoys basketball and watching comedies. She has one older brother named Brent and a cat named Tiger. |
