As part of their preparations for the 2008 World Olympic Qualifier in Victoria, BC at the end of April the Women’s National Team travelled to South Africa to compete in several matches against top-calibre opponents.
Team Canada begin the tour with three test matches against the South Africans before joining both South Africa and Team Russia in the 3-Nations SPAR Cup tournament February 25 – March 1.
South Africa has already qualified for the Beijing Games while Russia will be hosting their own qualifier in Kazan for the right to attend. Before departing back to Canada the women will also compete in three contests versus the highly skilled Under-21 South African team.
