President
Announces Chairperson for the
2004
Men’s Pan American Cup - London, ON
John Green, FHC President
and champion of FHC’s International Hosting Plan, is pleased
to announce that Mr. Raphael Fernandes has accepted the challenge
and will Chair the 2004 Men’s Pan American Cup scheduled tentatively
from 12-23 of May, at the TD Waterhouse Stadium in London, Ontario.
The Pan American Cup is the men’s World Cup qualifier and
it is expected 10-12 teams from the Americas, that will participate
in this event.
Raphael Fernandes was
selected to represented the Kenya National Field Hockey team at
3 Olympics, Montreal 1976, Moscow 1980, and Los Angeles 1984, and
is a qualified FIH Coach and currently the V.P for High Performance-Men
- Field Hockey Ontario.
Raphael is currently an
employee at the Royal Bank as a Service Advisor - National Sales
& Relationship Management. Some of Raphael’s community
involvement at the Bank include:
- Volunteer “V.P Education” for RBC Forward Speakers
Toastmasters International Club.
- Represented RBC as a presenter of the Junior Achievement Program
"Economics of Staying in School" and "Diversity
in the Workplace".
- Committee member of the “RBC Diversity Council.
- Volunteered at numerous other events such as the Forum Children’s
Christmas parties, Sick Kids Hospital Walk-a-Thon, Meals on Wheels,
Big Brothers Annual Bowling Tournaments, Dragon Boat races and
Employees Area Social Committees.
Some of you that attended
the 2002 Senior National Tournament in London-Ontario, will remember
Raphael as a member of the Organizing Committee.
