July 6th,
2003 Today's matches saw Chile outlast Wales 2-0. This was
Chile's first win of the tournament and opened the door for Canada
to take over first place outright if they could manage a win against
Scotland. In what may have been the most exciting match of the tournament
Scotland came back from a 2-0 deficit in the second half to defeat
the Canadian women 4-3. This game saw 5 goals scored in the last
12 minutes of play with Scotland scoring the winner just before
the sound of the horn.
On the Men's side Canada and Belgium played
once again to a 1-1 tie. Ken Pereira scored the lone goal for Canada,
while Jerome Toussaint of Belgium jumped to the top of the Men's
scoring list with his third goal of the tournament. |
