Satbir, or more commonly known by teammates as Satty, was born and raised in Surrey. He began playing field hockey in 2012 after a cousin introduced him to the sport. After his first game, he was hooked.

Brar has been part of the Men’s Junior Development Squad since 2013, and was part of the squad that won a silver medal at the 2016 Jr. Men’s Pan American Championship in Toronto, which qualified Canada for the Jr. World Cup.

Satbir says that his role model is his father, Jaswant, because he has taught him to work hard for his dreams. Along with field hockey, Satbir grew up an avid soccer player.
