Cameron Bonney was born in Lincoln, England, but like many Canadians, he grew up wanting to play ice hockey. With no rinks nearby and field hockey much more popular in the U.K., he joined Lincoln Field Hockey Club and began playing goalkeeper in his second year.

Bonney moved to Canada in 2010 and plays his club hockey for the Burnaby Lakers. In 2016, he was named to the Canadian Under-21 team for the Junior Men’s Pan American Championships in Toronto, Ontario.

He attended Port Moody Secondary School, graduating in 2015.
