If you can call a junior athlete a veteran, then that’s what Brandon Pereira has quickly become for Canada.
Making his debut in 2013 at the Junior World Cup in Delhi, he has gone on to compete at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, where he captained the Canadian Under-18 team to a silver medal, and the 2016 Junior Pan American Championships.
Pereira starting playing field hockey at the age of 12 and was inspired to play by his grandfather, who competed at the Olympics for the Ugandan field hockey team. His father also played the sport.
He plays his club hockey for the United Brothers in Surrey, British Columbia. He graduated from Holy Cross Secondary in 2014.
