| Occupation: |
- Student at University of British Columbia
|
| Field Hockey Background: |
- I started playing recreational Spring League hockey in 1994 and played for my high school juvenile team in 1994 and 1995. I usually played midfield or inner positions until 1996-97, the year I started playing goalkeeper: while in grade ten, I thought I would have a better chance of making the senior team if I offered to play back-up goalkeeper. I ended up only playing in net!
- The same year, I played goalkeeper for my spring league team, received extra coaching, and played in the British Columbia Summer Games. In the fall, I learned that people actually played field hockey all year round (!) and joined the Vancouver Hawks, playing both indoor and outdoor in 1997.
- My high school team, Point Grey, made it to the provincials in the fall of 1997 and 1998, where we placed 11th and 7th respectively.
- I played in 1998 with the Doves and, in 1999, came to play with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.
- While I went to a couple of development camps in 1998, I didn't really get involved with the B.C. program until the summer of 2000 where we came in third in the
U-21 National Championship.
- In 2000 I played starting goalkeeper for the UBC Thunderirds and we came away with an 8-2-2 season, winning the Canada West championship and coming 4th in the CIAU Nationals.
- Selected in the Junior Women's National Team for the 2000 Training Camp in Cuba.
