| Field Hockey Background: |
- started playing in grade 11, choosing field hockey over basketball and was asked to try out for the Ontario Provincial Team that same year (1994);
- selected for the Under-18 Ontario Provincial Team in 1995, winning the U-18 Eastern National Competition;
- decided to pursue an athletic scholarship in the United States in order to play field hockey at a different level and receive a university education in return; was recruited by several universities but chose University of New Hampshire because it had the best combination of field hockey (teammates, coaches and conference) and academics.
