- Eric has an extensive background in coaching including coaching a Great-Britain Olympic athlete in high hurdles, the Canadian men's team and numerous successful British Columbia provincial teams both men and women.
- In the area of coach education, Eric is an active Level 4 Master Course Conductor and manages the NCCP Theory Home Study program in British Columbia. Since 1974, close to 10,000 coaches taking Levels 1-3, have enrolled in courses which Eric has organized and taught.
- Eric has held many administrative positions in sport including Associate Deputy Minister for Sport & Recreation, Government of British Columbia, and Chair, Coaching Association of Canada, National Advisory Committee.
