Working in collaboration with a variety of partners, Field Hockey Canada is the national sport governing body responsible for the development, growth and promotion of field hockey in Canada. Field Hockey Canada receives financial contributions from the federal government and other agencies, organizations, sponsors and donors, and is accountable for the disbursement and reporting of funds according to the contracted terms and conditions. Programs, activities and services are operated within the limitations established in an annual budget led by the CEO and approved by the Board of Directors. Field Hockey Canada staff is responsible to manage and administer the finances and provide administrative support for all Field Hockey Canada activity.
Within this scope, this role is responsible for the delivery of the pathway for Woman’s NextGen athletes across Canada. In addition this position will be responsible for the accelerated development and the individual environments of all High Potential athletes. The position will also serve as the lead within the Regional High-Performance Centre to be established. The position reports to the Head Coach/Director of the Women’s National Program.
Field Hockey Canada is searching for a Women’s NEXTGEN HEAD COACH & PROGRAM DIRECTOR who possesses leadership & management skills, combined with significant experience in coaching and sports administration. The successful candidate will work under the leadership of the Women’s Head Coach and collaborate with the Junior National Age Group Coaches and High- Performance Centre trainers. Together, this team will implement the technical direction that will result in the building and activation of a world-class NextGen program. Collectively this leadership team will establish & implement strategies to integrate NextGen athletes into the Woman’s National Team, leading to long-term international performance excellence.
With support of the S&C, the Women’s NEXTGEN HEAD COACH & PROGRAM DIRECTOR will establish an optimal training environment in the identified High performance centres. The role includes the creation and implementation of integrated training programs and training sessions for identified NextGen Development athletes. Strengthening partner relationships and working towards common goals with High Performance leaders, the successful candidate implements the pathway for all NextGen athletes and Trainers in Canada.

The ideal candidate should have extensive International experience in high performance coaching, and possess strong consultative, facilitation and decision-making skills.
